Roewe, a division of the Shanghai Auto Industry Corporation, will launch the 550 midsize saloon at next month's Beijing Motor Show.
Related to the 750 - a model derived from the Rover 75 - the 550 features the 1.8-litre turbo Rover K-Series petrol engine.
The car is based on a cut-down version of the Rover 75 platform and has been developed from work underway at MG Rover prior to its collapse.
Besides the 1.8 turbo, thought to produce around 150bhp, engines for the 550 range are expected to include 1.6 and normally-aspirated 1.8 petrol units, plus a 2.0-litre diesel.more...
